What is Athletic Metrics?

Athletic Metrics provides standardized, on-site athletic performance testing for athletes. We measure core athletic traits using objective, sport-agnostic protocols and deliver clear, usable data that helps families and coaches understand what truly drives performance.

Our testing evaluates speed, power, agility, reactivity, and repeat-effort capacity — the physical foundation that transfers across sports. From this data, every athlete receives detailed results and a universal AM Score that places performance into context and highlights development priorities.

Athletic Metrics operates independently of coaching and training programs. We do not sell workouts or promise outcomes. Instead, we provide clarity before further investment, allowing parents, athletes, coaches, and trainers to make informed decisions based on objective measurement rather than guesswork.

Testing is delivered through school and team testing days, on-site facility events, and verified public testing opportunities. Results are standardized, private, and designed to track progress over time without public rankings.

Athletic Metrics exists to bring fairness, clarity, and measurable progress to athletic development.

What We Do

Athletic Metrics is a mobile athletic testing company that delivers standardized, in-person performance evaluations for youth athletes. We operate on-site at schools, clubs, and facilities, and through professionally run public testing events.

Our role is to measure athletic performance objectively and translate results into clear, usable insight. We evaluate core athletic traits using standardized protocols so every athlete is assessed consistently, regardless of sport or background.

Athletic Metrics does not coach, train, or sell development programs. Our value lies in testing accuracy and data interpretation. Each athlete receives detailed performance results and a universal AM Score that places their athletic profile into meaningful context.

By separating measurement from training, we provide families, coaches, and trainers with clarity before additional investment. The result is better alignment, smarter development decisions, and measurable progress over time.

Why Athletic Metrics?

Athletic testing alone does not create clarity. Most testing environments produce isolated numbers without explaining how those results relate to real athletic development.

Athletic Metrics exists to interpret performance data, not just collect it. We separate athleticism from sport skill and coaching so families and coaches can understand what truly limits performance and where development efforts should be focused.

Our testing evaluates multiple athletic domains together, providing a complete picture of how speed, power, agility, reactivity, and endurance interact. This approach allows us to identify meaningful development priorities rather than relying on single drills or isolated metrics.

Athletic Metrics does not train, coach, or sell programs. Our role is to deliver objective insight that supports smarter decisions, better communication, and measurable progress over time.

About Us

Athletic Metrics was built by athletes and parents with over 35 years of combined experience across sports, health, fitness, nutrition, and youth development. We’ve participated in youth sports from every angle — as competitors, coaches, parents, and evaluators — and we saw a consistent gap in clarity.

Families were often forced to guess. Athletic potential was confused with skill, coaching, or opportunity, and development decisions were made without objective reference points.

Athletic Metrics exists to change that. Our mission is to bring clarity, fairness, and measurable progress to athletic development through standardized testing and honest interpretation. We believe that objective data creates better conversations, smarter decisions, and healthier long-term development.

We do not train, coach, or rank athletes publicly. Our role is to serve communities by providing neutral measurement and clear insight. Every testing event is designed to leave athletes, families, coaches, and trainers more informed than they were before.

What We Test

Athletic Metrics evaluates the physical traits that form the foundation of athletic performance across sports. Our testing is designed to measure how an athlete moves, accelerates, changes direction, reacts, and sustains effort — independent of sport skill or coaching.

Each athlete completes a standardized battery of tests that assess multiple athletic domains together, allowing us to understand how traits interact rather than viewing results in isolation.

Speed and acceleration testing evaluates an athlete’s ability to create separation and generate burst. Power testing measures explosive force production that supports jumping, sprinting, and rapid movement. Agility and change-of-direction testing captures an athlete’s ability to decelerate, control their body, and re-accelerate efficiently. Reactivity testing measures decision-to-movement speed under controlled conditions. Engine testing evaluates repeat-effort capacity and recovery, which are critical for sustained performance.

By analyzing these traits collectively, Athletic Metrics identifies meaningful strengths, limitations, and development priorities. We don’t simply record results — we explain how they work together and what they mean for long-term athletic development.

The AM Score

The AM Score is a universal measure of athleticism derived entirely from objective testing data. It is designed to quantify how effectively an athlete’s body can perform across fundamental movement demands that transfer between sports.

Rather than focusing on sport-specific skills, the AM Score evaluates core athletic traits such as speed, power, agility, reactivity, and repeat-effort capacity. These traits form the physical foundation that allows athletes to adapt, compete, and develop regardless of position or system.

Each AM Score is calibrated by age and sex to ensure results are meaningful and fair. Athletes are not ranked publicly and are not compared against peers by name. Instead, the score provides a clear baseline and a consistent way to measure improvement over time.

In addition to the universal AM Score, Athletic Metrics offers sport-specific projection scores. These apply sport-relevant weighting to the same test data to help coaches and trainers understand how an athlete’s athletic profile aligns with specific competitive demands — without altering the core AM Score itself.

The result is a single, objective reference point that brings clarity to athletic development conversations and supports smarter training and evaluation decisions.

How Testing Works

Athletic Metrics delivers standardized athletic performance testing through on-site team events and professionally run public testing days. Our process is designed to be efficient, consistent, and accessible for athletes of all levels.

Testing begins either at your facility or at a scheduled public event. Athletes complete a structured series of standardized athletic tests that measure core performance traits such as speed, power, agility, reactivity, and repeat-effort capacity. All testing is supervised and conducted using the same protocols to ensure fairness and accuracy.

After testing is complete, results are analyzed and delivered in clear, easy-to-understand reports. Each athlete receives objective performance data, an AM Score, and development priorities that help families, coaches, and trainers understand what matters most.

Athletic Metrics measures traits, not talent. We do not publish public rankings or comparisons. Results are private, objective, and designed to support long-term development and measurable progress over time.

Why do Parents love us?

Parents invest significant time, money, and energy into youth sports, often without clear insight into what actually limits their child’s performance. Camps, trainers, and teams may provide activity, but they rarely provide objective clarity.

Athletic Metrics gives parents a clear athletic baseline before further investment. Our standardized testing identifies strengths, development gaps, and priority areas so families understand where improvement will have the greatest impact.

We measure athletic traits that transfer across sports, not sport-specific skills. This allows parents to separate athletic development from coaching, systems, or playing time and focus on what their child’s body needs most.

Athletic Metrics does not sell training or development programs. Our role is to provide objective data and interpretation so parents can make smarter decisions, ask better questions, and validate whether training efforts are working.

Re-testing over time allows families to measure progress with confidence, ensuring that time and resources are being spent effectively.

Why do Athletes love us?

Athletic Metrics gives athletes ownership of their development through objective measurement. Instead of guessing what to work on or relying on opinions, athletes receive clear data that shows how their body performs and where improvement will matter most.

Our testing evaluates core athletic traits that transfer across sports, including speed, power, agility, reactivity, and endurance. These traits form the physical foundation that allows athletes to compete, adapt, and improve regardless of position or system.

Athletic Metrics does not rank athletes publicly or compare them against teammates. Results are private and focused on progress over time. Re-testing allows athletes to see proof of improvement and understand whether their training is working.

Athletes can share results with coaches and trainers to create better alignment, clearer communication, and more effective development plans. When you know what to work on, athleticism becomes trainable.

Why do Coaches love us?

Athletic Metrics supports coaching by providing objective athletic baselines that separate physical traits from sport skill, experience, and system effects. Our testing allows coaches to evaluate athletes more efficiently and with greater clarity.

By measuring speed, power, agility, reactivity, and repeat-effort capacity, Athletic Metrics helps coaches identify which performance factors are athletic in nature and which are technical or tactical. This distinction simplifies evaluation and reduces guesswork.

Our standardized data improves communication between coaches, athletes, and parents by grounding conversations in objective measurement rather than perception. Coaches can track athletic development over time without relying solely on game performance or subjective observation.

Athletic Metrics does not coach or train athletes. We enhance coaching by providing neutral, consistent information that supports better decision-making and long-term development planning.

Why do Trainers love us?

Athletic Metrics provides trainers with independent diagnostics and objective proof of progress. Our standardized testing establishes neutral athletic baselines before programming and validates whether training interventions are working.

By measuring core athletic traits such as speed, power, agility, reactivity, and repeat-effort capacity, Athletic Metrics helps trainers identify true limiting factors that may not be visible through skill work or general fitness testing alone.

Our data supports more precise programming and stronger communication with athletes and parents. Re-testing allows trainers to demonstrate measurable improvement over time, reinforcing credibility and accountability.

Athletic Metrics does not compete with trainers or sell training services. We exist to support effective training by providing unbiased measurement and clear performance context. When progress is measurable, good training becomes undeniable.

About Public Testing Events

Athletic Metrics hosts verified public athletic testing events for families who are not testing through a school, team, or organization. These events provide the same standardized testing experience delivered at on-site team sessions.

Public testing events are open to all youth athletes and are professionally run using identical protocols, equipment, and scoring standards. Athletes complete the same athletic performance tests and receive the same objective results, AM Score, and development insights.

Public testing is ideal for club athletes, homeschool athletes, multi-sport athletes, transfers, or families seeking independent performance data. All results are private and designed to establish a true athletic baseline or track progress over time.

Athletic Metrics does not publish public rankings or comparisons. Public testing events exist to provide fair access to objective measurement and clear development direction.
